Yeah, maybe around half of my stories get 'chosen for further distribution' and it seems to make no difference to my stats, as far as I can tell. What did make a huge difference was having one of my stories published in a Medium publication - that's the way to go, in my opinion, although being curated does give me confidence that my writing isn't terrible.
