Writing can be a powerful way to help inject change into situations. As you quite rightly say, spelling out for people what they can do to change things can be more useful than merely highlighting problems.

But more than that, I think everything we write, in some small way, changes the world. Our thoughts and feelings on an issue or situation infuse into our readers and change how they think and feel.

It might not be in any overt or measurable way, but in a sense, we cannot help but shape the world every time we publish an article or story, far less a book. None of us operate in a vacuum.

As such, we have a responsibility to consciously choose what we put out there.
