LAW and POLITICS
Totalitarian Britain — Another Step Closer
They’re setting the stage for the total elimination of dissent
“Everything Hitler did was legal.”
Many people don’t realise that Hitler was a stickler for following the law. The Nazi party rose to power in the early 1930s by popular vote.
The first new laws ushered in by the Third Reich were enacted by the German parliament, or Reichstag, in the same way as any other laws — through the democratic process.
What made those early Nazi laws so devastatingly powerful was that they contained within them provisions for the Chancellor, Adolf Hitler, and his government to enact further legislation without the backing of parliament.
The importance of this point cannot be overstated.
Through a perfectly legal and legitimate democratic process, democracy was effectively replaced by totalitarianism in the blink of an eye. By democratically introducing legislation which increased the German Government’s prerogative powers, the Nazi party simultaneously eroded and then removed the restraining powers of the Reichstag.
Which is, in many ways, exactly what is happening here in the UK.
