The Easiest High Protein Vegan Smoothie Ever
Perfect for after a heavy workout — 85g protein
People say being vegan is hard. They say it’s expensive. They say you can’t get enough protein.
Those of us who have been vegan for years know it’s bullshit, and this recipe illustrates that perfectly.
This is my favourite vegan smoothie. I drink it all the time after workouts. It’s super fast and easy to make, contains only 4 ingredients and has around 85g of protein (yes, you read that right — 85 grams!).
For anyone who assumes this is low-quality protein, it has ALL the essential amino acids in good quantities, too!
What’s more, it’s all natural and has no nasty powders. Protein powders might seem like a good idea if you’re trying to build muscle, but they’re usually full of artificial sweeteners and other crap which are best avoided.
Simply blend 2 bananas, 100g of peanut butter and a good sprinkle of ground cinnamon with a litre of soya milk.
I use Alpro’s high-protein brand with 50g of protein per litre but you could settle for the standard variety with ‘only’ 30g per litre and still have a damn good body-building smoothie.
