Thanks for this article. A breath of fresh air after the last one I just read before it by a bitter, self-entitled writer griping about how he was leaving Medium because one of his stories only earned 2 cents. Apparently he's going to Substack (of course) but I for one wasn't moved to follow him there, based on what I'd just read from him.
