As for your point about Jesus distributing fish that the disciples caught, I think you might be thinking of the story about the miraculous feeding of the 5,000. The reason it's miraculous is not because they caught some fish - it's because Jesus supposedly manifested fish from thin air. Magic fish, if you will. Presumably no fish had to be killed for this miracle. If you read my article fully, you'll find I've linked to this, too.
