Stop Crying Over Spilt Milk
Destroy 1.5 million gallons of milk a day in ‘milk lakes’ and nobody bats an eye… pour a couple of cartons of milk onto a supermarket floor and everybody loses their minds
Activists from Animal Rebellion in the UK recently poured eight pints of milk out in a department store and now everyone’s losing their minds.
The action happened a couple of weeks ago when activists from the direct action group visited Harrods in London, where they emptied several bottles of milk onto the floor in protest at the dairy industry.
The action has led to much discussion about the dairy industry, with resulting TV and radio interviews doing much to raise awareness and promote discussion about serious problems inherent within the industry, and with animal agriculture in general.
In the resulting furore, as expected, much of the rhetoric towards the activists has been hostile. TV producers brought out a so-called vegan to criticise the activists who proceeded to accuse them of being ‘wasteful’ and setting back the cause.
There’s always some turncoat, some ‘snake in the grass’ prepared to publicly stab fellow vegans in the back in order to win the favour of the guilty masses.
