One Of The Saddest Things You’ll Ever See
The Tragic Scene That Touched The Hearts Of Thousands
Earlier this week, I posted a video on Twitter showing the final moments of a bull, tied up tightly and weeping as he awaits slaughter.
The footage touched the hearts of thousands of people, who were moved by the bull’s almost palpable sense of sorrow and defeat. As he stands there, broken, betrayed and beyond hope, tears roll down his cheeks and drop to the ground.
Among the hundreds of replies were people expressing their own anguish, sorrow, tears and empathy for the bull, as well as anger that people treat innocent animals in such a way, their sense of entitlement or just plain, ruthless greed outweighing any sense of justice or compassion.
Yet among all the tender-hearted and kind replies were a few expressing a disbelief that any animals other than humans are capable of crying tears of emotion. The tears, they maintain, are just down to an infection, or maybe something in the animal’s eye.
Some people refuse to accept that any animals, other than humans, experience any emotions at all, as we understand emotion, yet anyone who’s lived with a dog will know that dogs both experience and express a range of very real emotions, including fear, sadness, anger, resentment, affection…
