National Animal Rights March 2022

This year’s UK National Animal Rights March takes place in London on 6th August. It’s an opportunity for animal rights activists and advocates to unite against exploitation in the pursuit of animal liberation and a brighter future for all.

The march has been organised as a collaboration between Animal Rebellion, Animal Freedom Movement, North London Hunt Sabs, Animal Justice Project and Animal Save UK. It is hoped that it will be the biggest one yet.

The March is due to start at 12 noon from Speakers’ Corner, Hyde Park (the paved area next to Marble Arch) and is an opportunity to demand rapid system change and an end to injustice for animals.

Of course, animal rights marches are nothing new — people have been marching for animal liberation since at least the 1980s and turnouts have often been counted in the thousands. They have undoubtedly contributed to raising awareness about animal exploitation, have encouraged countless people to become active and many more to go vegan as a result.

Having first attended marches like this thirty years ago, it’s encouraging to see how much the vegan movement has mushroomed since then. With the advent of social media…
