I tried… I really did!

In the spirit of Veganuary I tried to get behind the new McPlant burger which McDonalds have launched.

If you’d told me 30 years ago that McDonalds would be putting up posters all over town advertising vegan burgers, I’d have thought you were tripping.

Yet there they are, bold as brass and clear as day (even in the middle of the night, which is when this photo of a backlit bus-shelter ad was taken).

Back in the 1990’s I was heavily involved with the worldwide campaign against McDonalds, the largest and best known burger chain in the world, who, since 1955, have been responsible for the abuse and slaughter of countless millions of animals, the destruction of vast swathes of virgin rainforest, the exploitation of children, and the pushing of unhealthy fast foods known to cause cancer, heart disease, diabetes and more.
