It Ain’t Anarchy If It Ain’t Veganarchy
Why you can’t call yourself an Anarchist if you’re not vegan
Most people have got anarchy all wrong.
They use the term like it’s a bad word, something to avoided at all costs. In the minds of the general public, as well as in the mainstream media, anarchy represents chaos, disorder and the total breakdown of society.
Anarchy is feared. It’s seen as a kind of mob-rule where violence wins the day and matters are decided by sheer force of numbers.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
In fact, this popular idea of Anarchy, as defined above, is actually a pretty good description of what passes as this shit-show they like to jokingly call ‘democracy’, where the masses get to decide (in theory, at least) what goes for everyone else and stepping out of line is met by coercion, imprisonment, batons, rubber bullets, tear gas and maybe even an early grave at the hands of your oppressor if you’re unlucky.
Anarchy abhors all that. It rejects all form of hierarchy and oppression, recognising instead the sovereign right of the individual to live life as they see fit, to come together in free and voluntary association for the purposes of furthering the common good — or to not come together, if that’s what you choose…
