I know some people roll their eyes when I write about veganism.

Nobody wants to be reminded of how dark the world is all the time — least of all me. Writing about exploitation and oppression takes its toll.

It feels good to write about uplifting subjects. To focus on the light in the world rather than the darkness.

But how do you not write about injustice when you see it going on all around you every day?

When every fibre of your being screams “This is WRONG!”

I log into 𝕏 and see images of the horrors being perpetrated on innocent beings every day.

In the supermarket, I’m surrounded by the butchered and dismembered bodies of my fellow Earthlings.

I see people writing about peace and justice while paying for violence to be done to the most innocent and vulnerable beings on the planet.

There is a popular ‘joke’ I’m sure you’ve heard: “How do you know if someone’s vegan? Don’t worry — they’ll tell you.”
