I’m not quite sure what your gripe is. Yes, compared to so-called ‘third world’ or ‘developing’ countries then western Europe and the US are elite — but that is totally out of context to my original point.

In fact, my original point was saying pretty much what you are saying. It is people in the ‘developed’ nations who are (I assume) mostly reading Medium articles and therefore, from the perspective of my audience, those are ‘ordinary people’. It is this demographic which I was proposing Greta is ignoring in her lobbying of global politicians.
