I miss running. I used to run often back in the day. Fondly remember the joy and exhilaration of bounding through fields and woods. I used to write poetry back then, rather than prose, and lines would be thrown into my head as I brushed through grasses and under trees, as if the words came from the Earth herself.

Covid put an end to all that. First the acute illness, followed by Long Covid. My lungs are wrecked these days, not to mention the hernia from all the coughing.

Reading this story made me want to try running again but I hardly dare. I don't think I'd fare well. I enjoyed reading this though - it brought back some wonderful memories and feelings. Thank you :)
