Well, firstly I don't think I mentioned getting rid of cars altogether, But I love it when people tell me there isn't an alternative to cars... when I've got by perfectly well without a car for 54 years.

It's a bit like the people who tell me I need to eat meat to survive, when I've been vegan 40 years.

It's usually just another way of saying you don't want the inconvenience of changing your lifestyle.
