Changing one's lifestyle and going plant-based is one of the simplest, MOST practical and most effective things one can do. It's certainly not impossible, as you claim, and not only is it a solution, it's a VITAL and NECESSARY solution.
However, I am not delusional enough to think people will do it, nor did I write this article to encourage people to do it (I thought the article made that clear). People won't change - in that you are correct - but not because they are obligate flesh-eaters, nor because there is no particular reason to (if justice and compassion for billions of nonhuman animals isn't enough, there's the small matter of our own survival). No, they won't change because, well "just because", as you put it. I'm sure Peter Carter knows this, too. But that's what was needed - there's no magic wand, although I'm interested to hear what solution you think is more practical than literally just reaching for a different product at the supermarket instead of a pack of meat.
