Thich Nhat Hanh, commonly known as Thay by his students, was a revered Buddhist monk, teacher, and author, and a prominent figure in the world of mindfulness and inner peace. Born in Vietnam in 1926, Thich Nhat Hanh dedicated his life to sharing his teachings and spreading the message of peace and compassion around the world. With a career that spanned over several decades, Thay inspired millions of people with his wisdom, kindness, and spiritual insight.

Thich Nhat Hanh’s early life was marked by a deep desire to understand the nature of suffering and to find a path towards peace. He became a monk at the age of 16 and was ordained as a Buddhist monk in 1951. During the Vietnam War, Thay worked tirelessly as a peace activist, promoting nonviolence and reconciliation between North and South Vietnam. He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1967 by Martin Luther King Jr. for his efforts to end the war.
